Miami running back Duke Johnson is giving Canes fans something to cheer about.
He scored four touchdowns three different ways (95-yard kick return, a 50-yard touchdown reception and scoring runs of 1 and 28 yards), leading Miami to a 38-10 win against Bethune-Cookman.
A 38-10 come from behind win.
That's right, the Canes fell behind, 7-0 to the FCS program, but Johnson gave them the spark they needed after an embarrassing loss at Kansas State last week. Odds are this game is reflective of Miami's identity all season -- an up-and-down, inconsistent team that drives Al Golden nuts. This is to be expected with such a young team, and in the end, Miami did exactly what it was supposed to and won the game. With a road trip to Georgia Tech looming on the schedule, though, Miami will need a similar performance from Johnson next week -- and it will need to get better quickly on defense.
