Thanks as always to the sports information directors throughout the league, and ESPN’s Stats & Information department for this week’s notes. Did you know …

BOSTON COLLEGE: Seven games in the series against Clemson have been played at traditional baseball venues in Boston (four at Braves Field, three at Fenway Park).

CLEMSON: Receiver Sammy Watkins still has not caught a touchdown pass this year, but he has run for one (58 yards vs. Furman) and thrown for one, a 52-yarder to Andre Ellington against Florida State. He also completed a pass last year against Georgia Tech for 9 yards. For his career, he is 2-of-3 for 61 yards and a score.

DUKE: The fathers of Duke teammates Brandon Braxton and Braxton Deaver played together for the Demon Deacons. David Braxton lettered three seasons (1986-87-88) as a defensive end for Wake Forest while Jay Deaver lettered four seasons (1985-86-87-88) as an offensive guard.

FLORIDA STATE: Florida State became the first team in ACC history to score 49 or more points in four consecutive games in a single season. Florida State leads FBS with the most touchdowns drives that lasted two minutes or less (17) and three plays or fewer (11).

GEORGIA TECH: The Yellow Jackets have outscored their opponents 46-0 in the second quarter.

MARYLAND: True freshman quarterback Perry Hills has a pass efficiency rating of 132.36, and he is one of only two true freshmen quarterbacks listed in the NCAA’s pass efficiency ratings. He is also the highest-ranked true freshman who did not participate in spring practice. Oklahoma State’s Wes Lunt ranks ahead of Hills and is a true freshman, but entered school last January in time for spring drills. Hills entered school in time only for fall preseason practice.

MIAMI: Since joining the ACC in the 2004 season, Miami is 4-0 in overtime games on the road. The Hurricanes have won four straight overtime games away from home. In Miami, though, the Canes are just 1-4 for an overall 5-4 overtime record.

NORTH CAROLINA: Quarterback Bryn Renner’s 684 passing yards in UNC’s last two games set a school record. The previous record was 683 shared by T.J. Yates (2007, vs. East Carolina and Virginia) and Darian Durant (2002, vs. Arizona State and NC State).

NC STATE: The Wolfpack finished with 282 rushing yards last week against The Citadel, its highest team total since rushing for 297 against Southern Miss in 2005.

VIRGINIA: UVa has rushed for 478 yards and four touchdowns and is rushing for 3.8 yards per carry. Compare that to UVa's first four games in the 2011 season when the Cavaliers had rushed for 725 yards and 10 touchdowns with 4.5 yards per carry. UVa rushed 35 more times in 2011 when compared to 2012 after four games.

VIRGINIA TECH: Sophomore returner Kyshoen Jarrett ranks No. 1 nationally in punt returns with an average of 35.4 yards per return. Opponents have returned just six of the Hokies’ 21 punts this season for 19 total yards.

WAKE FOREST: No Jim Grobe-coached Wake team has lost to Duke. It is the second-longest winning streak in a current ACC series.
