You already knew it was a bad weekend for the ACC.
The latest ESPN conference power rankings bear that out -- big time. The ACC dropped from No. 4 to No. 6 in the rankings done by ESPN Stats & Information. Yes, that means the ACC is behind the Big Ten and Big East for the first time all season.
Losses by No. 3 Florida State and Miami had a huge impact. Here is what the Stats & Information group said about the ACC:
If there is any question whether the Big East deserves to be ranked ahead of the ACC, consider their head-to-head records. The Big East is 4-3 in games against the ACC this season.
The Big East has three teams ranked in the AP Top 25 for first time since the final poll of the 2009 season. The ACC and Big Ten each have just two ranked teams.
Additionally, the Big East has three undefeated teams in Louisville, Cincinnati and Rutgers, the second most of any conference. On the other hand, the ACC is the only BCS-AQ conference without an undefeated team.
It's hard to argue with those facts.
Here are the complete rankings.
