Miami backup quarterback Ryan Williams continued to take all of the first-team reps at practice on Wednesday in preparation for Saturday’s game against Florida State, while injured starter Stephen Morris remained limited, coach Al Golden said on Wednesday's ACC teleconference.
“Stephen threw from a stationary position today, but in terms of dropping back or anything like that, he’s not ready to do that,” Golden said. “Ryan took all the reps under center today. Stephen threw in a couple of drills, but again, no push-off, just very stationary.”
Morris sprained his left ankle in last Saturday’s 18-14 loss to North Carolina. Against the Tar Heels, Williams was 9-for-13 passing for 80 yards for Miami. Saturday would be Williams' first career start for the Hurricanes. Golden told The Associated Press that Morris will be a game-time decision.
