Status quo for ACC in latest power rankings

Given the way the Top 25 rankings look -- and the mess that is the Coastal Division -- it seems pretty certain that the ACC will finish the season at No. 5 in the ESPN Stats & Information conference power rankings.

That is where the ACC stood in the latest installment Monday, falling further behind the Big Ten. Nobody will argue this has been a great year for the ACC. Only four teams are bowl eligible right now, and the possibility exists the ACC won't fill all its bowl slots. On the flip side, it's not as if this has been an amazing year for the Big Ten, too. Both leagues have struggled up and down the conference.

But you know as well as I do what would make these rankings irrelevant -- both Florida State and Clemson getting bids into the BCS for the second straight year.
