North Carolina offensive guard Jonathan Cooper and Florida State defensive end Bjoern Werner were selected to the Football Writers Association of America's All-America team Friday, making them unanimous All-America selections this season.
Cooper and Werner also were honored as first-team members on the Walter Camp, AFCA, AP and Sporting News All-America teams. Twelve players this season reached unanimous All-America status.
Cooper graded out at 90 percent for the season and had double digits in knockdown blocks in nine of the Tar Heels' 12 games, and was a huge reason why the Tar Heels were able to run the ball with such success this year. Werner, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, led the conference in sacks with 13 and finished second in tackles for loss with 18.
