Syracuse will open its season against Penn State on Aug. 31 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The matchup marks the second of 14 games Syracuse plans to play at MetLife Stadium through 2038. Last year, the Orange faced USC at the stadium and lost, 42-29.
Penn State, meanwhile, returns to the Meadowlands for the first time in 13 years. The matchup between the schools was first announced in 2010. Game time is to be determined.
“We look forward to starting our 2013 season by rekindling an age-old rivalry against a prestigious Penn State program,” Syracuse coach Scott Shafer said in a statement. “It is a great opportunity for us to kick off the three-game series with the Nittany Lions in front of one of our largest alumni fan bases at MetLife Stadium.”
Tickets go on sale April 22.
