It's not like the Canes dominated Central Florida.
Dominate is what Boston College did today against NC State. No, Miami won, 27-7.
It took care of business. It just wasn't the kind of game that's going to win them any style points. Not with 46 yards rushing and 1.5 yards per carry. But a pesky performance by UCF on their home turf was to be expected.
And with a 5-1 record, Miami is off to its best start under Randy Shannon. Quarterback Jacory Harris continued to spread the ball around, the Canes racked up a season-high 26 first downs, and for the first time this season, Miami held an opponent scoreless in the first half.
Ray-Ray Armstrong made his first career start at safety, and running back Damien Berry ran for 60 yards and a touchdown. Most importantly, Miami is 3-0 in nonconference play this year.
There's no question the Canes are a top 10 team, but now that the BCS standings are coming out, they have to make sure they look like it in every quarter of every game.
