Virginia Tech and Michigan have agreed to a home-and-home series set for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the schools announced Thursday.
The two teams will play in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Sept. 19, 2020, and meet the following season in Blacksburg, Va., on Sept. 11, 2021.
"Michigan is the winningest college football program in the country, and it will be exciting to have the Wolverines come to Lane Stadium," Virginia Tech athletic director Jim Weaver said in a statement.
The two schools have met just once previously, with Michigan taking a 23-20 overtime victory in the 2012 Sugar Bowl.
Michigan becomes the third Big Ten team on future Tech schedules, joining Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Hokies are scheduled to travel to Ohio State in 2014 and play host to the Buckeyes in 2015. A two-game series with Wisconsin is set to begin in 2016.
Tech is currently 1-1 all-time against Big Ten teams, with both meetings coming in bowl games.
