Florida State and Clemson have already played, but the season isn't over yet. You remember what happened between FSU and NC State last year, right?
Week 9 schedule
Saturday, Oct. 26
Boston College at North Carolina
Clemson at Maryland

NC State at Florida State
Georgia Tech at Virginia
Wake Forest at Miami
Pittsburgh at Navy
Our pick: NC State at Florida State
Why you should come along: Didjya look at the rest of the schedule? Well, that and the fact that this game has the best subplot of the week. Last year's game between FSU and NC State might have defined the Seminoles' entire 2012 season. Florida State was ranked No. 3 in the country -- No. 3! -- and lost, 17-16, on a two-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 16 seconds left in the game. Early prediction: There's no way FSU gets embarrassed at home in this game. No way Jimbo Fisher loses to first-year coach Dave Doeren.
Just like there was no way FSU was gonna lose at NC State last year, right?
Seriously, I will be shocked if the Noles let the Pack hang around in this game after what happened last year -- especially on their own turf -- but this will be a statement game for Doeren and his program. In addition to the fact that it's an Atlantic Division game that will impact the standings, it will also be Doeren's first game outside of the state of North Carolina. The Wolfpack have four straight home games to start the season, and it's lone road trip in the first eight weeks of the season is to Wake Forest. Florida State should win this game, but it should have won it last year, too. There's only one way to find out if NC State can work magic again ... come to Tally to find out.
