Our pick: Miami at Florida State

Why you should come along: We think you know the answer to that question. Because this is going to be the first time since 2010 -- and just the second time in seven seasons -- these teams will be ranked in the Top 25 when they meet. Mark it down. This rivalry has been missing the drama over the past few years because the stakes have not been nearly as high as they were during the heyday of these annual showdowns. But now that Miami appears to be on the upswing, perhaps some of that drama -- and national relevance -- can be restored.

Florida State has won three straight in the series and four of the past five, so if Miami wants to truly start talking about how it has turned a corner, it is going to have to win this game, on the road in Tallahassee. That would prove a lot, especially if Florida wins the matchup with Miami earlier in the season. Though Miami and Florida State are in different divisions, this would be a big league victory for either team. You know that Florida State wants to keep its foot on Miami for as long as it can, so this is not a game anybody on the Seminoles' sideline is going to take for granted.

In their matchup last season, Miami hung with the Seminoles for three quarters. But the Seminoles showed how far Miami has to go to close the gap on their in-state rivals in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Canes 17-7 to win comfortably. We'll see how much progress Miami has made over the past year.

Let's go!
