FSU defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews has hinted that this might be his last season, but he could make it official Tuesday. Andrews was asked about it today at his weekly press conference, and he teased a possible announcement about his future tomorrow.

Considering how poorly the defense has played this season -- and the fact it could also be Bobby Bowden's last year -- it doesn't come as a surprise that this could be Andrews' final year, but the timing of it is a little unusual. It would be another distraction during a week in which Andrews should be focused on making his defense better in preparation for one of the ACC's fastest, most talented rosters in Clemson.

We'll address Andrews' impact on Florida State in greater length if he actually makes this official, but the initial thought that comes to mind is not who his replacement would be, but who will choose the next defensive coordinator. It should be Jimbo Fisher, as he is the one who will take over the staff soon. That could cause a rift, though, among the current staff, as Bowden might want to reward somebody like Chuck Amato with the position. An announcement like this would force fans and FSU officials to look again at the future of Florida State when instead nobody should be looking past this Saturday.
