Florida State practiced on Monday night and Tuesday, and quarterback Christian Ponder, who suffered bruised ribs last week against NC State, has yet to participate in any team drills, coach Bobby Bowden said on Wednesday's ACC teleconference.

"He's thrown the ball, and I think he'll be OK for Saturday," Bowden said. "That's the biggest difference right now in our practices. [E.J.] Manuel is getting a lot of good work, which is what he needs."

Today the staff will try to get Ponder his first full-day's work this week. Manuel has been getting most of the snaps with the first team, and Bowden said he thought offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher would try to change that today. If Ponder isn't ready to go, though, they'll try again on Thursday.

Bowden said he's not worried about Ponder.

"Knowing him, he'll play Saturday," Bowden said. "He's just real sore, real sore."
