Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder will miss the rest of the season with a separated right shoulder he suffered in Saturday's loss to Clemson, a school spokesman said today.
Ponder will need surgery on his throwing shoulder, but offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher expects Ponder will be back in time for spring drills.
Obviously this news is devastating to the Seminoles' chances of reaching a bowl game this year. Ponder was the best reason for optimism this team had. Now, FSU will try to avoid its first losing season since 1976.
