Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has been issued a citation for shoplifting crab legs from a local supermarket, the Leon County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday.

Winston has been suspended from the baseball team, pending completion of community service. The school's athletic department code of conduct/discipline allows players cited with a civil citation to practice and compete. Decisions on suspensions are up to the head coach.

Baseball coach Mike Martin said in a statement: “I am confident he will complete his community service obligation and the situation will be resolved soon." Football coach Jimbo Fisher said in a statement he stood by Martin's decision.
