Georgia Tech has hired veteran assistant Ray Rychleski as special teams coach, the school announced Tuesday.

Rychleski, who has more than 30 years of coaching experience, also will work with the offensive line.

"I am excited to have Ray as part of our coaching staff," coach Paul Johnson said in a statement. "He brings a great deal of experience, he’s been successful at a number of places, and I think he will fit in well with our staff."

Rychleski spent the 2013 season in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes. He also has worked with the Indianapolis Colts, South Carolina, Maryland, Wake Forest, Temple and Penn State.

He takes over for Dave Walkosky, who abruptly resigned earlier this month.
