Paul Johnson is recruiting assistant coaches from his opponents.

Georgia Tech, which hired former Virginia coach Al Groh as its defensive coordinator, is expected to hire NC State linebackers coach Andy McCollum as defensive line coach. McCollum will also be the recruiting coordinator, replacing Giff Smith.

This is a good hire for the Jackets and a loss for Tom O'Brien. NC State and Georgia Tech will play this season for the first time since 2006. Johnson still has one hire left to make.
