This year, Virginia is the only team in the ACC that scheduled two FCS opponents. Boston College is the only team in the conference that didn't schedule any opponents ranked in the final Associated Press Top 25 AND no bowl teams.
Before you can rank the difficulty of these nonconference schedules, first you have to scout the opponents. Allow me. This breakdown includes opponents' 2009 records, the group's winning percentage, the number of teams that finished in the final AP Top 25, number of FCS schools and number of bowl teams from 2009.
Digest these numbers, and I'll rank the nonconference schedules for you later this afternoon, from most difficult to creampuff. This should give you an idea of where some teams stand, but I'll present them to you alphabetically first.
