ACC's brand-name schools
By ESPN.com staff
Some folks tend to take exception when I call Florida State and Miami the ACC's "brand-name" schools.
Well, how 'bout North Carolina?
The Collegiate Licensing Company recently released the names of the "top-selling universities" for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. The rankings represented royalties reported from Oct. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2009, on all collegiate merchandise sold.
UNC was the ACC's top seller.
The Tar Heels came in at No. 7, followed by No. 21 Florida State, No. 25 Clemson and No. 28 Miami.
Other schools ranked among the top 75 universities were:
No. 36 Maryland
No. 38 Virginia
No. 40 Georgia Tech
No. 48 Duke
No. 56 Boston College
And there you have it. You bought it.
Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and NC State.
