GT linebacker leaves team; Radakovich gets extension
By ESPN.com staff
Senior reserve linebacker Osahon Tongo voluntarily left the football team, a school spokesman said today.
With all due respect to Tongo, it's not a huge hit, as he probably would have played sparingly and on special teams. He had six tackles last season, one forced fumble and a tackle for loss.
In other Georgia Tech news, the Georgia Tech Athletic Association Board of Directors has approved a new five-year contract for athletic director Dan Radakovich, who is entering his fifth year at Georgia Tech. His deal now extends through 2015.
“I am extremely appreciative of the confidence that [Georgia Tech President] Dr. [Bud] Peterson and the Board have shown in me,” Radakovich said in a prepared statement.
