Miami RB Damien Berry out vs. Terps
By Heather Dinich
Miami running back Damien Berry is injured and will miss Saturday's game against Maryland, a school spokesman confirmed.
Not only will Miami likely be missing its starting quarterback, Jacory Harris, but now the Canes will also be missing their leading rusher. Berry is averaging 4.9 yards per carry through eight games this season. He ranks fourth in the ACC and 41st nationally with 86.2 rushing yards per game, totaling 690 yards on 142 carries. The good news for the Canes is that they've got plenty of depth at this position.
Lamar Miller is second on the team with 252 yards on 46 carries (5.5 ypc), while Mike James has 243 yards on 41 carries (5.9 ypc).
The bad news? Maryland opponents are averaging just 1.9 yards per carry in four ACC games, the best mark in the league.
