1. Will this be Bobby Bowden's last year?
Bowden told the Orlando Sentinel this week he's sick and tired of mediocre results, but didn't want to pinpoint an overall record that would determine whether or not he retires. During a visit to Tallahassee this spring, Bowden said he'd like to reach the 400-win mark and resurrect the program before he calls it quits. Maybe the realization that goal isn't around the corner is sinking in.
2. How much of a factor will the inexperience on the offensive line really be?
Huge. Offensive line coach Rick Trickett said he's never seen this situation in 36 years. It's not like there's at least one veteran to help usher these guys along. For the first time in program history there's not a junior or senior in sight. There's a possibility as many as three freshmen might start. Redshirt freshmen Antwane Greenlee and Will Furlong at least have been on the team for a year.
3. Will Drew Weatherford remain the starting quarterback?
He's got some serious competition from Christian Ponder, but it's Weatherford's job to lose. He showed improvement by dramatically cutting down on turnovers last season but still needs to work on his decision-making and accuracy. And, of course, fans are always looking to the next guy. Weatherford has said, though, that he has improved and his confidence has grown, and he's not letting outside factors affect his play.
