Wake Forest recruiting analysis
By Heather Dinich
WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS
Top prospects: Kevin Sousa is ranked the No. 23 quarterback in the country, and three-star athlete Airyn Willis decommitted from Georgia Tech. Defensive end Godspower Offor is the top defensive prospect.
Needs met: Offensive linemen and linebackers were the two priorities for this class, and the Deacs added three linemen and three linebackers. It was a small but efficient class.
Analysis: This class is good, but it could have been great had the Deacs closed on a few other prospects. Instead, it’s a typical Jim Grobe class -- mainly under-the-radar talent the staff will develop into a bowl-bound team. Sousa is a quarterback worth watching, as his raw skills are comparable to former Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
