Boston College running back Montel Harris is the backbone of the Eagles' offense.
2010 numbers: He led the ACC and was 16th in the nation in rushing with 103.6 yards per game and had 1,243 yards, eight touchdowns and 4.6 yards per carry.
Previous ranking: No. 20
Making the case for Harris: He has been the most dependable player on BC’s offense, and possibly the entire roster. Despite his injury late in 2010, his durability is unquestioned. He had 577 carries over the past two seasons and only nine players in the country had more carries than he did last year -- and he missed became the first player in school history to eclipse the 3,000-yard mark as a junior. BC’s offense literally runs through Harris.
