Defenses slowing down Georgia Tech
By ESPN.com staff
ESPN's Stats & Information group took a closer look at the statistical decline of Georgia Tech's offense over the past two weeks. The Yellow Jackets entered last Saturday's game at Miami with the most plays of 20-plus yards in the nation this season, but they didn't get one against the Canes. It was the first time this season that Georgia Tech had fewer than four plays of 20-plus yards in a game and the first time that they were held without a reception of 20 or more yards.
The FBS teams with the most plays of 20 or more yards this season:
Georgia Tech: 51 (none last week)
Oklahoma State: 47
According to Stats & Info, Georgia Tech only passes on 19 percent of its plays, but Tevin Washington completed at least three 20-plus yard passes in the Yellow Jackets' first six games. He has only completed one long pass play since.
