NC State coach Tom O'Brien said he is preparing for William & Mary with Daniel Evans as his starting quarterback and Harrison Beck as his backup because the status of Russell Wilson remains uncertain.
Wilson suffered a Grade 3 concussion (the worst you can have) against South Carolina.
"Russell's back and he's back into his regular daily routine, will be going to class and everything," O'Brien said at his press conference today. "We'll see how he progresses here in the next week or so."
When asked if Wilson could practice, O'Brien said, "We'll do whatever the doctors say that he's able to do. We'll take it day by day.
"We don't have any idea what Russell's situation is. We're going to prepare to play Evans and backup with Beck."
Equally as devastating to the Pack is the news that tight end Anthony Hill will miss the home opener with a chest injury.
The lone good news on offense is that running back Jamelle Eugene might return.
"We will see how he does this week," O'Brien said. "If he can get out there and practice, then maybe he can get some playing time this week."
