Our series taking a look at the most important game on the schedule this year for each ACC school continues today with NC State. For those of you just tuning in, this is a look at which games will reveal the most or have the biggest impact on the 2012 race.

NC State

Most important game: at Florida State, Oct. 6

Why it’s important: The Seminoles stand between NC State and the Atlantic Division title, and this year, the Wolfpack have a legitimate shot at it. When healthy, NC State has proven to be one of the better teams in the division, as it won four of its final five games last season, including a win over Louisville in the Belk Bowl. NC State shocked then-No. 7-ranked Clemson last year, but flopped in a 34-0 loss to Florida State. This year, NC State will have home-field advantage against the Noles and should be motivated by last year's loss. Once again, a win over Clemson likely won’t be enough to get to Charlotte. NC State has to close the gap with the Noles, too. With Mike Glennon at quarterback, four of five starters back on the offensive line, and one of the most talented cornerbacks in the country in David Amerson, this team should not be overlooked in the ACC race. One way to make sure that doesn't happen is to win this game.
