Setting up Saturday's ACC slate
By Andrea Adelson
Let's take a quick look at what's on tap in the ACC today.
For those who missed it, here is a look back at Heather's picks and what to watch.
Boston College (1-3) at Army (0-4), noon, CBSCS. The high-flying Eagles offense should be able to put up points on the Black Knights. The bigger concern is the defense, which has had a difficult time slowing down teams. How does this unit do against the triple-option?
Virginia Tech (3-2) at North Carolina (3-2), 12:30 p.m., ACC Network. We should know more about North Carolina after this game. Can Virginia Tech overcome its offensive struggles?
Virginia (2-3) at Duke (4-1), 3 p.m., RSN. All eyes on the quarterbacks. Will Sean Renfree get the start for Duke? Phillip Sims is slated to get his first career nod. Will that make the difference for the Hoos?
Georgia Tech (2-3) at No. 15 Clemson (4-1), 3:30 p.m., ESPN. Will we see any defense in this game? Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Al Groh is on the hot seat, and will face a tough challenge against Clemson and DeAndre Hopkins, having a career rebirth.
Wake Forest (3-2) at Maryland (2-2), 3:30 p.m., ESPNU. How will the six suspensions affect Wake Forest going into this game? Losing four starters has to hurt, on top of being without injured receiver Michael Campanaro.
Miami (4-1) at No. 9 Notre Dame (4-0), 7:30 p.m., NBC. How will Notre Dame handle a suddenly rejuvenated Miami, hot quarterback Stephen Morris and all its talented (and fast) skill players?
No. 3 Florida State (5-0) at NC State (3-2), 8 p.m., ESPN2. Does NC State have any chance at the upset with a patchwork offensive line? Will Tank Carradine capitalize?
