Boyd gets weekly Walter Camp honor

By Andrea Adelson

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was selected the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday for his record-setting performance in a 62-48 win over NC State.

Boyd accounted for a school-record 529 yards and a school and ACC record eight touchdowns in the win. He completed 30-of-44 passes for 426 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for a career-high 103 yards and three more scores.

Boyd is now responsible for an ACC single-season record 41 touchdowns this season. He broke his own record of 38 set last year. His 79 touchdowns over the last two years are the most in consecutive years in ACC history.

Earlier in the week, Boyd was one of 15 players named the Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List.

Boyd, tight end Brandon Ford and Vic Beasley were also honored by the College Football Performance Awards.
