Wow. NC State is on the brink of doing what Virginia Tech could not -- beat the BCS busters.
Much of the credit here goes to Russell Wilson, who is getting better with every play, and defensive coordinator Mike Archer, who was able to quickly adjust without his top playmaker, linebacker Nate Irving, who left the game with an injury.
While Wilson led the Wolfpack to its first offensive touchdowns since last November, it was the defensive pressure on Patrick Pinkney in the waning seconds of regulation that forced overtime.
Whether or not NC State comes out with the upset, the entire team deserves credit for its effort against the Pirates. It's only a matter of time before we see this kind of play on a consistent basis from NC State.
