Allen tough to tackle

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Having seen him play live on back-to-back weekends, Georgia Tech A-back Anthony Allen looks like one of the hardest-hitting, toughest runners in the ACC. You know the criticism you hear of C.J. Spiller? Yeah, not an issue with this guy. Allen broke about five tackles on a 21-yard run here in the second quarter, setting the Jackets up on Virginia's 4-yard line. The play led to the go-ahead touchdown and the Jackets now lead 10-6.
Virginia's defense has been doing a great job of stuffing quarterback Josh Nesbitt and containing Jonathan Dwyer, but Allen is the one guy who's managed to escape. And he's certainly not afraid of lowering his shoulders to get the extra yards.
