GT, Tulane will play after all
By Andrea Adelson
Tulane and Georgia Tech will play as previously scheduled this upcoming season, after the Green Wave announced their Sept. 6 game was moved to New Orleans.
Late Friday afternoon, Georgia Tech announced Tulane had opted out of its four-game agreement to play the Jackets. Tulane feared it would be unable to host the 2014 game because construction on its new $55 million stadium may not be done in time.
Given those concerns, the game was moved to a different site.
In its statement late Friday night announcing the game would be played, Tulane said, "University officials have been in continuous conversations about the game and today's earlier communication about canceling it and the remainder of the four game series was issued prematurely.
"Both universities are looking forward to a competitive and exciting series."
