NC State OT Rob Crisp given extra year
By Andrea Adelson
NC State offensive tackle Rob Crisp will be eligible to play in 2014 after the NCAA granted him a medical redshirt, coach Dave Doeren said Monday.
Crisp has battled injuries over the last two seasons. He missed nearly all of 2013 after sustaining a concussion in the second game against Richmond. In 2012, he missed five games with a back injury. He played through the injury the remainder of that season.
NC State begins spring practice Wednesday, but Crisp will not return until the summer. Still, the news is a big boost for the Wolfpack. Crisp is a veteran left tackle with starting experience. If he can stay healthy, he has the potential to be a major contributor on the offensive line.
