FSU lures in Green; slow day for Miami
By Heather Dinich
Four-star athlete Christian Green, the No. 9 rated athlete in his class and No. 53 player overall in the ESPNU 150, has chosen Florida State. That's the third big commitment today for Jimbo Fisher. It's a good day to be a Seminoles' fan. FSU is still at No. 6 in the latest class rankings.
From ESPN's Billy Tucker:
"FSU is making a push for a top-five class and Jimbo Fisher has certainly established himself as the new closer in college football. Christian Green is a tremendous athlete who we project will play receiver at the next level. He will need to polish up as a route runner but has potential playmaker ability with his quickness, change-of-direction skill and burst in space."
Miami has signed three players from the ESPNU 150, but missed out on receiver Ivan McCartney, defensive end Ego Ferguson and offensive tackle Shon Coleman. The Canes still have six four-star recruits and have addressed several of their needs, namely at tight end, linebacker and offensive line.
