New England Patriots outside linebacker Adalius Thomas is disavowing himself from any claims he has expressed his desire to be a New York Jet.
Thomas, in an e-mail to Boston Herald reporter Karen Guregian on Monday night, denied comments Jets inside linebacker Bart Scott made two weeks ago on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike."
Scott was a teammate of Thomas' with the Baltimore Ravens. They played under defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, now the Jets' head coach.
"It's funny," Scott said. "I was hanging with Adalius Thomas for Super Bowl weekend. We're buddies from back in the day. He made it public that he's expressed in interest in joining Rex. I think some of his better years of his career have been a part of the Ravens' defense and under Rex Ryan's tutelage. It'll be exciting."
Thomas had a falling out with Patriots coach Bill Belichick last season. Many are shocked Thomas hasn't been cut by now.
As you read Thomas' e-mail to Guregian, you can almost hear the screeching brakes.

"I've heard of all the chatter up there about me," Thomas wrote in the e-mail. "It was about something Bart Scott said on TV, [and] that's not what was said. ... I have never told anyone that I wanted to leave and go play for the Jets.
"I have been asked by coaches, reporters, players, 'where are [you] going to play next year?' And my response has been I don’t know. I'm still a Patriot unless you know something I don't know, but reporters report any type of hype.
"Not once did anyone of them [in the media] that had something to say about me, pick up the phone or email and ask if it was what I said. So I'm a Patriot until otherwise noted from Bill or the organization."
