Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch might be an even bigger load to bring down in 2009.

The 5-foot-11 Pro Bowler revealed he has increased his weight to about 230 pounds. We don't know how heavy he was last year because sizes can fluctuate, but he was listed at 215 pounds.

"I haven't lost a step," Lynch said after Thursday's organized team activity in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Lynch said swimming helped him add muscle over the offseason.

"My shoulders got a little bit wider, but I'm still a young man," Lynch said. "So I still have some growing to do."

Lynch, who says he enters "Beast Mode" when he's on the field, already was considered one of the NFL's toughest runners to tackle.

He has rushed for at least 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns in each of his two seasons despite missing three games as a rookie and one game last year. He has been suspended for the first three games of 2009 because of poor off-field behavior.

Lynch isn't sure he'll stay at 230 pounds once summer hits.

"Well, I don't think you put on weight to add years to your career, but it was something different for me," he said. "During the season, during training camp, it will be pretty hot, so it probably won't stay on."

If it does stay on, that's a frightening thought for defenders.
