The New England Patriots are the NFL's best team.

How many stars do they have? How many fantasy-league standouts are on their roster?

Compared to other teams -- many in dire straits -- the Patriots have few.

That's why ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer is raving about the Patriots' ability to rise above the clutter with one of the youngest teams. They are atop the league with a 6-1 record.

"The New England Patriots are the antithesis of the National Football League right now," Dilfer said. "They simply come to work. They bring their lunch pails. They try to get better each day, and they try to do their job. At the end of the day they don't try to explain very much. They just simply tell you 'Yeah, we did our jobs well today’ or ‘We didn't do our jobs well today.' They're definitely not glamorous. They only have one star on their entire football team -- he happens to be their quarterback -- and he's not even putting up staggering numbers.

"Then why are they the only one-loss team in the National Football League? Because the Patriot Way is the right way, and more owners and more coaches around the National Football League need to figure that out and implement the same philosophies that Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick have.

"They don't have the best talent, but they have people getting better each week with the right mentality. That's why they’ll always be the class of the National Football League."
