There are no New York Jets in this week's installment of Mike Sando's MVP Watch.
Of the three 7-2 teams, the Jets are the only team not represented on Sando's short list of candidates through 10 weeks.
Does a Jet deserve to be a candidate?
I don't think so. Not at this stage.
It's difficult to look at Sando's list and find a player who doesn't belong. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took over the top spot with his powerful display against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.
If I had to pick a Jets MVP, then I must go with Sanchez. His low completion percentage is troubling, but he has been coming through on the regular. He keeps plays alive with his legs, has a knack for connecting on deep strikes and doesn't melt when the clock is dwindling.
Tomlinson's production, meanwhile, has dropped off. He's still having a great season, but the MVP talk fittingly has cooled.
