Have you ever dreamed of placing a curse on somebody?

If so, then I'm about to make your day.

ESPN.com readers will choose who appears on the cover of Madden 12, the next version of the iconic EA Sports video game franchise.

Players who appear on the cover have endured some pretty rotten luck the season the game's released.

The competition will be determined in a tournament bracket format. Every team has a candidate.

Division rivals are paired off in the first round. Voting will open for a week each round. The winner will be announced April 27 live on ESPB.

Strangely, reigning MVP Tom Brady doesn't represent the New England Patriots in the field of 32. Their candidate is running back Danny Woodhead.

Woodhead is the fourth seed on his side of the bracket and is up against Buffalo Bills receiver Steve Johnson, the 13th seed.

On the other side, fifth-seeded New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will take on 12th-seeded Miami Dolphins tackle Jake Long.

Long is one of only two offensive linemen in the field, not a great sign for the marketing department. Nobody buys a video game to experience vicarious pass blocking. Carolina Panthers tackle Jordan Gross is the other offensive lineman.

But the Seattle Seahawks didn't produce any players for the tournament. Their entry is "The 12th Man."
