The New England Patriots announced Monday they've signed seven players to their practice squad.
The most intriguing name is Isaiah Stanback, who was among the Dallas Cowboys' final cuts. The Cowboys drafted Stanback in the fourth round two years ago. He played a quarterback at the University of Washington, but the Cowboys converted him to receiver and sometimes used him on kickoff returns.
"I tried very hard at receiver," Stanback says in the Dallas Morning News. "I busted my butt at receiver and did whatever was asked of me. I think I could do it, but I was never comfortable with it.
"Quarterback is what I've done my whole life. It's what I'm comfortable with."
The rest of the Patriots' practice squad is:
- Receiver Terrence Nunn
- Tackle Patrick Brown
- Defensive lineman Titus Adams
- Defensive lineman Darryl Richard
- Defensive tackle Adrian Grady
- Cornerback DeAngelo Willingham
