For the past couple of months, we've sent along updates on Ray Lucas' recovery from a pain-killer addiction.

The former New England Patriots, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins quarterback made his journey public with ongoing Facebook entries. He left his job as an analyst for New York sports station SNY and went through anguish in rehab, returned home and had knee surgery.

Through it all, Lucas has admitted his fears but generally remained upbeat.

On Sunday night, he received some emotional news and posted another entry on Facebook:
"Just found out that I WON THE EMMY for Best Sports Analyst in NY. WOW it is such a blessing to now have a clear head be pain killer free & have my physical issues healing so I can truly enjoy this amazing honor. My life is going in the right direction. Talking about sucking some snot, what an overwhelming experience."

The past two months certainly have been arduous for Lucas. It's nice to see someone who has been through such agony get a reward to keep him going down the right path.
