Another report links Moss to Jets

Over the past couple months, there have been various stories about the New York Jets' possible interest receiver Randy Moss.

Boston Globe reporter Greg A. Bedard wrote after the owners' meeting in New Orleans the Jets liked the idea of adding Moss. FoxSports.com's Adam Schein contradicted that story and speculated any reported interest was a ploy to get Santonio Holmes more motivated to re-sign.

New York Daily News reporter Manish Mehta posted a story Monday, citing unnamed sources as saying the Jets might add Moss if they fail to re-sign either Holmes or Braylon Edwards, whose contract also is up.

Moss is 34 years old and running out of options to prolong his career. Two teams dumped him last season. The New England Patriots traded him. The Minnesota Vikings waived him. Moss then failed to make an impact with the Tennessee Titans.

Moss would be cheaper to sign that either Holmes or Edwards, but would be a decent insurance policy to keep an impressive supporting cast around young quarterback Mark Sanchez.
