Hall of Fame reveals preliminary 2010 list

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced on Saturday its preliminary list of candidates for the 2010 induction class.

There won't be many spots available this time around because Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and Tim Brown are eligible for the first time. Four will from the preliminary list will be inducted. Seniors Committee nominees Dick LeBeau and Floyd Little also can be selected.

Candidates with AFC East ties include:

Buffalo Bills
Miami Dolphins
New England Patriots
  • Fullback Larry Centers.
  • Cornerback Raymon Clayborn.
  • Tight end Ben Coates.
  • Receiver Henry Ellard.
  • Tight end Russ Francis.
  • Receiver Irving Fryar.
  • Frank "Bucko" Kilroy.
  • Kicker Nick Lowery.
  • Defensive tackle Steve McMichael.
  • Receiver Stanley Morgan.
  • Quarterback Jim Plunkett.
  • Nose tackle Fred Smerlas.
New York Jets
  • Quarterback Boomer Esiason.
  • Defensive lineman Joe Klecko.
  • Kicker Nick Lowery.
