There is a lot of discussion of whether Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is having the best season ever for a quarterback. But according to the Total Quarterback Rating, Tom Brady was better in the 2007. Just barely.
Through nine games, the New England Patriots quarterback had a slightly higher QBR during his record-setting season in 2007. That year Brady set the NFL record with 50 touchdown passes and New England finished the regular season 16-0. Rodgers has a chance to challenge both records this season.
Here is a look at the numbers of both quarterback thus far:
The most important stat is both quarterbacks were 9-0 at this stage of the season. The Patriots in 2007 were undefeated all the way to the Super Bowl, where they were upset by the New York Giants. New England finished 18-1.
Green Bay certainly looks Super Bowl-bound, as well. What will be the fate of Rodgers and the Packers this season?
