Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano apparently has to prove himself all over again.

As South Florida Sun-Sentinel columnist Ethan J. Skolnick noted after Monday night's 27-23 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the honeymoon period is over.

In SportsNation's weekly NFL coach approval ratings, Sparano was in the middle of the pack at 67 percent as of this post Thursday morning.

Sparano spent almost all last season about 25 points higher -- Rex Ryan territory.

Ryan, the New York Jets rookie head coach, was sixth with a 92 percent approval rating. His predecessor, Eric Mangini, was dead last at 11 percent.

Buffalo Bills coach Dick Jauron, who had single-digit ratings last year, sat one slot behind Sparano at 65 percent.

Forget the three Super Bowl titles, the New England Patriots' rocky start had Bill Belichick 24th on the list with an approval rating of 42 percent.
