INDIANAPOLIS -- New England Patriots Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski sat out of Monday's practice, according to head coach Bill Belichick. Gronkowski continues to rehab his injured left ankle in preparation for Super Bowl XLVI.
Gronkowski's father, Gordy, said last week that his son has a high ankle sprain. That is one of the toughest forms of ankle sprains to recover from. New England has yet to confirm the degree of injury, but the team says "Gronk" is day to day.
Gronkowski believes he will play. But the key practices for New England will be Wednesday and Thursday. If Gronkowski continues to miss those practices, that will decrease his chances of participating in the Super Bowl.
