There isn't a points system that gives players credit toward winning the Rookie of the Year Awards.

But it's hard to dispute New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is the man to beat.
If there was ever any doubt he was ahead in the competition, the NFL on Thursday named Sanchez its offensive rookie of the month for getting the Jets out to a 3-0 start.
Sanchez completed 59 percent of his passes for 606 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.
He beat out Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin (my preseason pick), Chicago Bears receiver Johnny Knox, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Mike Wallace.
Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas was named defensive rookie of the month.
Delmas was chosen ahead of Dallas Cowboys kicker David Buehler, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Aaron Curry, Eagles safety Macho Harris, New Orleans Saints cornerback Malcolm Jenkins and Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga.
