The AFC East blog continues to look at three potential draft prospects for each division team. On Tuesday we take a look at the Miami Dolphins, who hold the No. 8 overall pick.

Prospect No. 1: Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill

Why: Tannehill is one of the hottest prospects in this draft. The former Texas A&M quarterback shot up the draft board this offseason and can go as high as No. 3. The Dolphins are one of Tannehill's biggest supporters. Miami offensive coordinator Mike Sherman coached Tannehill in college and vouches for the quarterback. However, is Miami high enough on Tannehill to trade the farm and move up or just high enough to take Tannehill at No. 8? The wise choice for the Dolphins would be to stay put. Tannehill is far from a sure thing. If the Cleveland Browns or another team want to take Tannehill in the top five, that should be fine for Miami.

Prospect No. 2: North Carolina DE Quinton Coples

Why: Coples arguably is the most well-rounded defensive lineman in this draft and would be a great fit for Miami. Coples is a classic defensive end who can play the run and get to the quarterback. The Dolphins need another pass-rusher opposite Cameron Wake. If Tannehill is off the board, Coples definitely is a possibility. He can make an immediate impact with the Dolphins.

Prospect No. 3: Several options

Why: It's hard to pick one player for option No. 3, because it could really get wide open. If Tannehill and Coples are both off the board, the Dolphins could go in several directions. South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram is a possibility if he falls to No. 8. Trading down also is a possibility and may be the best option in this scenario. But I think Tannehill will be there at No. 8 and will be the pick.

On Wednesday we will look at the reigning AFC champion New England Patriots. You can find a recap of the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills here and here.
