MIAMI -- The New England Patriots are notorious for trading down in the draft. But this was a different year for the reigning AFC champs.

The Patriots gave up a third-round pick (No. 93 overall) to move up six spots. New England and Cincinnati have history together making trades. The Patriots acquired former Bengals stars Corey Dillon and Chad Ochocinco.
Jones is a raw talent but has the physical ability to improve New England’s pass-rush. The Patriots were ranked 31st in total defense last season and 31st against the pass.
