Bills add depth on defense

The Buffalo Bills had two draft picks in the fourth round. They added former Florida State outside linebacker Nigel Bradham and former LSU cornerback Ron Brooks.

Here are some quick thoughts on the additions:

  • Buffalo's pick of Bradham was timely and makes sense. The Bills addressed most of their needs on defense through the draft and free agency but didn't get any outside linebackers. Bradham is a hard worker who has all the measurables to play the position. The Bills need depth there, especially if Shawne Merriman doesn't bounce back from Achilles surgery.

  • Brooks was the "other cornerback" opposite top LSU pick Morris Claiborne. He has the ability to play nickel, help on special teams and joins top-10 pick Stephon Gilmore in a revamped secondary. The Bills need as many bodies in the secondary and linebackers as possible. They added two more in the fourth round.
